Iran FM lauds Iraq constructive role in regional equation

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian praised Iraq's efforts to strengthen the dialogue element and its constructive role in the regional equation.

Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Iraq Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.

Referring to the ceasefire in Yemen, he stressed Iran’s support for the continuation of the ceasefire and ending the humanitarian siege in this country.

The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the solution to the region's problems inside the region.

He praised Iraq's efforts to strengthen the dialogue element and its constructive role in the regional equation and the negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Iran wants nothing but good for the region and supports the reopening of embassies in the capitals of the two countries.

Referring to the commonalities between Iran and Egypt, he described strengthening relations between Tehran and Cairo as in the interest of the region and the Islamic world.

Meanwhile, Al-Kadhimi emphasized Iran’s position and role in the regional developments and in its proximity to Iraq.

Iraq is serious about developing bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and continues to play a reassuring role in the region.

Emphasizing the comprehensive development of relations and the need to remove possible obstacles, he said: "I will continue my efforts to strengthen regional dialogue and cooperation."
