Iranian Government Spokesman Ali Bahadori Jahromi in a message criticized the UK for sending asylum seekers to Rwanda,

"While the UK, claiming human rights advocacy, wants to send refugees to Rwanda, Iran has hosted Afghan refugees and immigrants for years, even under sanctions without the usual international assistance," Bahadori Jahromi i wrote in his Twitter account on Saturday.

Meanwhile earlier, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh criticized the UK for treating asylum seekers as an object, and imposing violence that is contrary to human dignity.

Khatibzadeh described the British government's plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda as an evasion of its international obligations and responsibilities, saying that transfer of these individuals out of the UK was contrary to the spirit and text of the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees.

By placing its responsibility on asylum seekers on the shoulders of a third country, the UK’s plan exposes refugees to violations of the rights set out in the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees and human rights treaties, and completely ignores human and moral considerations, he noted.
