Iran, Russia stress finalizing cooperation roadmap

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in a meeting stressed the need to finalize the cooperation roadmap, which was raised during the meeting of Iran, Russia presidents.

Referring to the expanding relations between Iran and Russia, the two top diplomats described the recent meeting of the two presidents, as a sign of seriousness in developing relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation.

They expressed hope that the relevant Iranian and Russian bodies would implement the agreements reached at the level of the presidents as soon as possible.

Referring to some of the problems at the Moscow airport that have caused delays for Iranian passengers, Amir Abdollahian called on his Russian counterpart to take urgent action to solve the Iranian passengers’ problems.

Meanwhile, Lavrov described the meeting between Iranian and Russian presidents as an important development in the relations between the two countries.

He stressed the fact that now the ground has been prepared for the expansion of interactions between the two countries.

He underlined solving consular problems, including the removal of airport barriers.

The two sides also discussed the latest regional and international developments and the Vienna talks, and stressed the need for bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.

They reviewed the latest developments in Afghanistan and Yemen.

The two top diplomats said formation of an inclusive government with the participation of all ethnic groups in Afghanistan would be a solution to problems.

Regarding Yemen crisis, they highlighted a political solution based on a ceasefire, lifting of the humanitarian blockade and holding intra-Yemeni talks.
