Iran, Russia review using Russia's $5b line of credit by Iran

Economy Minister Ehsan Khanduzi in a meeting with his Russian counterpart reviewed joint projects, way to use Russia's $5 billion line of credit line and the need to develop economic relations in the future.

Khanduzi stressed accelerating implementation of Sirik power plant project and the Incheh Borun-Garmsar railway, as well as three projects that had previously been discussed.

Both sides also discussed Modernization of Ramin power plant in Ahvaz, increasing the capacity of Gotvand dam power plant and also financing part of phases 2 and 3 of Bushehr power plant were other axes that were emphasized and examined by both sides.

The Iranian minister underlined the proposal to add the Rasht-Astara railway project, which could play a special strategic role in finalizing the south-north corridor, as well as buying 2,000 locomotives.

Meanwhile, the Russian Minister of Economy welcomed developing economic relations between the two countries and Khanduzi's proposals and emphasized accelerating the process of technical negotiations regarding the contracts.
