Health Ministry's Updates on COVID-19 - January 16

Iran’s Health Ministry has confirmed 2,292 new cases of COVID-19 infection in 24 hours, increasing the total number of cases to 6,221,033.

Health Ministry said that the virus has killed 31 patients since Sunday noon, raising the overall death toll to 132,075.

So far, 6,064,646 patients have recovered from the disease or been discharged from the hospital.

It said 1,345 patients are also in critical conditions caused by more severe infection.

It noted that 43,410,121 COVID-19 tests have been taken across the country so far.

60,321,108 Iranians have received the first dose of the COVID19 vaccine and 53,130,215 people have so far received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Some 12,521,856 people have received the third dose of the COVID19 vaccine.
