Iran, Hungary review economic relations

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a meeting with his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó discussed bilateral economic and educational ties as well as developments in Afghanistan.

During the meeting which was held on the sidelines of the 76th session of the General Assembly, Amir Abdollahian He termed the efforts to develop trade and economic relations as one of the main priorities of Tehran-Budapest relations.

He also proposed establishing a joint commission at the earliest opportunity and preparing of a roadmap for relations.

Referring to presence of 4,000 Iranian students in Hungary, he described it as a basis for reinforcing relations.

Meanwhile, Szijjártó expressed readiness for holding the joint economic commission meeting.

He underlined Budapest's determination to develop economic and trade relations with Iran, saying US sanctions have created problems, but in the meantime we have tried to strengthen economic relations again."

He also vowed to donate 100,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccines to Iran for vaccinating Afghan refugees.
