FM Spox: It is not unlikely for next round of Vienna talks to be the last one

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh hailed progress in the process of Vienna talks, saying it is not unlikely for the next round of Vienna talks to be the last one.

Addressing the Monday press conference, Khatibzadeh rejected speculations regarding the link between JCPOA revival and Iran Presidential Election. Iran's policy has never been and will never be to delay lifting sanctions if possible. It is not unlikely for the next round of Vienna talks to be the last one.

The text has no ambiguity and we have achieved a clear text, he added.

Reacting to National Security Advisor of the United States Jake Sullivan remarks, he said Sullivan and everyone know that Iran has always had a single policy during these few years. A new JCPOA will never be negotiated.

He should be aware of the fact that the statement in JCPOA states that the full implementation of the nuclear deal is a reassurance of the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program and the case will be closed, Khatibzadeh noted.

Anyone who wants to ensure the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program should put the full implementation of the JCPOA on the agenda, he said.

He rejected reports on making removal of some people from the sanctions list conditional to reaching an agreement. Iran's principled policy is to lift all sanctions predicted in the JCPOA.

We will not accept any more commitment than what is written in JCPOA, and will not consent to any profit less than what is predicted in the JCPOA, Iranian diplomat said.

International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) technical board is not considered as a court to make decision but it just raises technical issues. Iran had earlier presented its technical reports and has answered to ambiguities. What remains is more the political decision by all parties than the need for negotiation. If political decisions are made, we can hope to be in the final round of talks, he added.

Reacting to Zionist media reports about Iran President-elect, he said the Zionist media approach is well known and they had no other duty than to tarnish Iranian nation's representatives' fame.

In reaction to IAEA chief's remarks on limitation of IAEA inspectors' access to Iran nuclear installations, Khatibzadeh said all accesses beyond safeguard agreement have been stopped but the IAEA has its safeguard inspections as usual.

Regarding recent assault on Iranian voters abroad and attacking an Iranian national in Birmingham, he said: It is really regretted that in some European countries and some polling stations in the United States, countries that claim human rights and democracy, we have observed shortcomings due to their carelessness.

We filed serious protest the same day that the accident happened and the issue was later pursued in Tehran, including that the British ambassador to Iran was summoned.  We will continue legal proceedings until the final result is achieved.

Regarding the US' exclusion of Iran vaccine and face mask sanctions, he said the measure one again showed that Iran was under obvious pressure and oppression from the United States amid pandemic.

Until all US' cruel, extraterritorial, and unilateral sanctions are lifted, these occasional actions will not absolve the United States of its responsibility.
