Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said Iran attaches importance to stable and safe Afghanistan, adding that all regional actors should contribute to this peace and stability process, and no one should address the Afghan nation for a dictated plan.

Iran attaches importance to stable and safe Afghanistan. Peace talks should be inter-Afghan and led by Afghan groups. All regional actors should contribute to this peace and stability process, and no one should address the Afghan nation for a dictated plan, Khatibzadeh said addressing the press conference on Monday.

Today, Foreign Minister's Special Representative for Afghanistan held talks with Afghan Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah on various issues, including the Istanbul Summit. Afghanistan government’s demand is Iran’s accompaniment, he added.

If the upcoming talks in Istanbul are in line with the principles that Iran has always stated, we will also consider participating in this meeting, he noted.

We have seen media reports about establishing dialogue between Iran and Saudi Arabia, although contradictory quotes have sometimes been published, he noted.

Zarif's visit to Indonesia is a bilateral trip, last year was the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Khatibzadeh said adding that over the last two years, the volume of relations between the two countries has almost doubled. This trip is aimed at following up and promoting bilateral issues and removing economic and trade barriers.

Regarding Sergei Lavrov's visit to Tehran, we are finalizing two parallel documents. Iran-Russia cooperation document is renewed every five years, Iranian diplomat said.

Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raisi visit to Iraq was a successful one, and releasing and transferring Iranian prisoners to Iran was one of its achievements, he noted.

We have prisoners in the Iraqi Kurdistan region and we are trying to transfer them to Iran within the framework of these talks, he reiterated.

Khatibzadeh wen to to say what is going on in Vienna is the technical talks on lifting US’ cruel sanctions and returning the country to its obligations under JCPOA and UNSCR 2231.

We are on the right track and have reached progress, but it does not mean that we have reached the final step. The Iranian delegation is not in Vienna for attrition talks, so we tried to present our texts, and on the other hand, we asked them to immediately join common examples and texts. We are not in a hurry and what is important is to be able to serve the interests of the great people of Iran within the framework of the Supreme Leader’s orders and the general policies of the system, he said.

We have no direct or indirect talks with the United States in Vienna, he emphasized.

We think the US administration knows better than anyone that Iran has done everything within the framework of the JCPOA parameters and will only stop them when the US lifts all its sanctions imposed or re-imposed, Khatibzadeh noted.

Regarding 60% uranium enrichment, as declared by the Supreme Leader, Iran will take these measures within the framework of the UN Security Council based on its needs and will also inform the IAEA, he said.

Iran’s decision was made in response to the terrorist operation on Iranian soil, which was accompanied by inaction and non-condemnation of such a dangerous act by the United States, the European Union and European countries, he said stressing that not only do we see Europe as US’ partner in violating its obligations, but we also see double standards by Europe.

Europe should be aware of the fact that with such rhetoric, it does not gain power, but will lose its value and will reduce its influence in the negotiations, he said.

We are not negotiating on JCPOA. The talks are very complicated because we need to make sure that US really complies with all its commitments this time and that the issues are verifiable in all dimensions, he added.

The issue of signing a comprehensive document on cooperation between the two countries has been raised not only in Zarif's talks with his Afghan counterpart, but also in the Special Representative's talks with various Afghan officials, he stated.

We had intensive negotiations with our friends in India, and a part of the COVID19 vaccines arrived in Iran, but then due to the coronavirus waves in India, there was a pause but the Indian side has vowed to remove the obstacles, he noted.
