Iranian, Afghan Foreign Ministers Hold Phone Talks

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Afghan counterpart Mohammad Hanif Atmar discussed various issues in a telephone conversation on Monday.

In the phone call, Foreign Minister Atmar expressed sympathy with the Iranian government and people over the loss of eminent scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

The top Afghan diplomat also condemned the terrorist assassination that led to the martyrdom of Fakhrizadeh on November 27, saying terrorism is rejected in any shape.   

The two foreign ministers also discussed Iran-Afghanistan bilateral issues, the topics relating to a comprehensive cooperation document, inauguration of Khaf-Herat railroad, and water cooperation between the two neighbours.
